Mary Elizabeth Kenworthy, 73, a long-time resident of Greenwood, Indiana, went
to her heavenly rest on Tuesday April 17, 2012, surrounded by family at home.
Mary was born October 3, 1938, to Tom & Ann Hanlon, in Connersville, Indiana. She was a graduate of Connersville High School in 1956, and also attended Indiana University for two years, studying Journalism. She married Larry Kenworthy, also of Connersville, on June 6, 1958.
She loved crocheting and knitting afghans, which she exhibited in the Johnson County Fair for decades, and especially enjoyed giving these afghans away to all of her friends and family members.
She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and being a big kid herself, sometimes getting into more trouble than the kids themselves.
She is survived by her husband, Larry, of nearly 54 years; brother Tom
(Joey) Hanlon of Kokomo, Indiana; son Steve (Micki) Kenworthy of Kentucky, daughter Cynthia Cook of Martinsville, Indiana; granddaughters Lauren (Craig) Harmon, Erin (Jason) Byers both of Greenwood, Indiana;and two great- grandchildren, Benjamin & Charlotte Harmon.
She was preceded in death by parents, Tom & Ann Hanlon, siblings Charlene Witt and Patty Siegroth, and infant son Larry Lee Kenworthy.
Thank you to all who helped to make Mary’s life full of meaning and love. There will be no visitation or funeral services.
